Where do we start with Cherry On Top? Probably with, “We’ll be going back again and again and again!” This place is a must-visit for any ice cream lover.
They offer over 20 different flavors of ice cream! I had the Sea Salt Caramel, and a couple of our kids opted for the Cotton Candy. We also couldn’t resist the chocolate-dipped waffle cones—delicious!

But the treats don’t stop there! If you’re in the mood for something different, they have banana splits, milkshakes, floats, and six different sundaes to choose from. There are also close to 20 toppings to customize your order just the way you like.
Here’s a rundown of their sundaes:
- The Triple Scoop: Three scoops of ice cream, three toppings, whipped cream, and a cherry.
- Cookie Monster: A scoop each of Cookie Dough and Cookies & Cream, topped with chocolate sauce, M&M’s, whipped cream, and a cherry.
- PB & Yay: Two scoops of Moose Tracks, peanut butter sauce, peanut butter crumbles, whipped cream, and a cherry.
- Strawberry Dream: Two scoops of Homemade Vanilla, strawberry sauce, marshmallow sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry.
- Tropical Isle: Two scoops of Homemade Vanilla, pineapple sauce, sliced banana, whipped cream, and a cherry.
- The Classic: Two scoops of Homemade Vanilla, hot fudge, peanuts, whipped cream, and a cherry.
Not in the mood for ice cream? They’ve got you covered with shaved ice, too! They offer nine flavors: Strawberry, Banana, Lemon Lime, Blue Coconut, Tiger’s Blood, Grape, Watermelon, Piña Colada, and Rainbow.

For seating, you’ve got options. There are tables and chairs inside if it’s too hot, or you can enjoy one of the picnic tables with umbrellas outside. If you’re looking to keep the fun going after your sweet treat, they even have corn hole boards set up outside.
Cherry On Top is located between De Soto’s Seafood Kitchen and The Steamer Baked Oyster Bar on West 1st Avenue. The exact address is 132 W 1st Ave, Gulf Shores, and it’s just a quick 5-minute walk from Gulf Shores Public Beach at 101 Gulf Shores Parkway.
Their hours are 12:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Monday through Thursday. 12:30 pm to 10:30 pm on Friday and Saturday. They are closed on Sundays.
